Al Mada Foundation supports the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection

The Al Mada Foundation supports the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment (FM6E) in its fundamental mission of raising awareness and educating people about sustainable development. This support takes the form of the Al Mada Foundation's participation in the deployment of several FM6E programs, in particular: 

- The “Clean Beaches” program, in the North region. This involves cleaning up the beaches of Cabo Negro, Martil and Petit Merou.

- The “Voluntary Carbon Offsetting” program, aimed at combating air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. This program includes the planting of trees and palm trees, the purchase and installation of photovoltaic kits in schools in rural areas, as well as environmental awareness and education.

The Al Mada Foundation supports the Al Mada Fund's commitment to the environment, notably through: 

- A vast program to decarbonize the Group, launched in 2022 and aimed at measuring and reducing the Group's carbon footprint. 

- Support for the environmental programs and initiatives of our holdings.

Nareva - Al Mada's leading player in renewable energies

Through its participation in Nareva, created in 2004, the fund is a pioneering player not only in Morocco, but also in Africa. 

A key player in renewable energies and water resource management, Nareva is actively contributing to Morocco's energy transition and the implementation of the Kingdom's national sustainable development strategy.

Managem - Green Mining to accelerate the transition to a climate-friendly future

At a time of climatic urgency and in response to growing public awareness around the world, the Managem Group is paying increasing attention to its environmental footprint, through its “Green Mining” approach. This strategy focuses on 3 key areas: 

1. Switch to renewable sources of electricity 

2. Reducing the water intensity of mining processes 

3. Reduce the quantity of materials mined

Green Steel - Sonasid's approach to the environment

Sonasid, the country's leading steelmaker, has become the first long steel producer in Morocco to be awarded the international Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certificate. This certification confirms Sonasid's position as an African leader in the production of high value-added green steel.

Marjane - stores equipped with photovoltaic power plants

In partnership with Nareva Services, a subsidiary of the Nareva group, Marjane Hypermarchés is launching a program to equip all its sites with photovoltaic power plants and supply them with renewable electricity as part of a strategy to decarbonize its activities.

To meet the global challenge of energy transition, Lafarge has strengthened its commitment to sustainable development by launching the “News Eco-gestes Eau” program. This program brings together more than 20 structuring projects aimed at accelerating the deployment of initiatives to reduce our environmental footprint, preserve natural resources, recycle waste and contribute to community development.

AMETYS - Preserving water resources and protecting the environment

As part of its commitment to preserving water resources, the Group has been a pioneer, signing agreements with the authorities to finance or connect wastewater treatment plants in the towns where the three golf courses owned by the Al Mada Group are located, so that wastewater can be used exclusively for watering the three courses.
